So December 2015, i got my first assignment to Dadaab yes DADAAB courtesy of FILM AID , i had mixed emotions from the excitement of working in a new place, to working with a new production house.
i wasn’t ready for Dadaab, i don’t think i had a proper brief before travelling. i swear i landed and almost passed out… THE HEAT!!! the runway was literally on fire! like blazing hot!! okey maybe i am exaggerating but its just hot all the time!
I was there for 5 days, the most amazing 5 days ever! there were security checks almost every hour, you couldn’t just leave the camp, you had to have security, it wasn’t an option.
The night life here was EPIC and i mean it super EPIC, we had crazy nights and dehydrated mornings and by 8am the heat would sober you up faster than an alarm clock!! hahaha
This was my first talk show and my favourite by far, i think it’s because of all the challenges i faced and still gave it my all.
