I worked on this lovely script a few years ago and it was a truly amazing set. We shot a few days in Nairobi before heading to Mombasa for the rest of the shoot.
This was an extreme learning curve on many levels. The story was a feel-good movie perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
Most of the set design had to be locked down quickly and required a speedy turnaround. The spaces needed mostly set dressing rather than builds, which made the work so enjoyable.
The few large sets we had were fun to work around.
I’m grateful to have been the production designer on this.
